Annual Members' and Guests' Dinner

I am delighted to announce that the Club’s Annual Members’ and Guests’ Dinner will take place on Thursday 5th October at 6.00 for 7.00pm.

This black tie event is one of the most important in the Club’s annual calendar and affords Members and guests the opportunity to celebrate another year in the life of the Club before the Club Ball at the end of October and the Annual General Meeting in November.

This year, it is my distinct privilege to announce that our after-dinner speaker will be James Ramsay, the 17th Earl of Dalhousie, the Lord Steward – who served the Royal Household in this capacity for fourteen years. A short biography of Lord Dalhousie follows this email.

Members and guests are requested to wear black tie or highland formal attire. Members and guests are welcome to join us from 6.00pm when the sparkling Blanc de Blancs will flow freely. Canapés will be served from 6.30pm, and the dinner itself will be served at 7.00pm. We anticipate that Lord Dalhousie will give his address shortly after 8.30pm.

The details of the evening’s canapés, dinner menu, and wine selections are below, and I remind Members that we are – as always – happy to provide alternative dishes if the below are not suitable, including discreet vegetarian alternatives. Likewise, Members are not obliged to accept full wine service (which would equate to two-thirds of a bottle), and may make a different selection if they prefer.
