Dear Member,
The Royal Northern and University Club and Scottish Opera are delighted to invite you to attend a supper and live recital at the Club. The dress code is black-tie, as is appropriate for such occasions.
Members and guests are invited to the Club for Champagne or a soft drink at 6.30pm. Guests will be seated at 7.00pm and supper will follow a short introduction by répétiteur Toby Hession. The Scottish Opera artists will be joining us for supper.
After the main courses, we will be privileged to enjoy a live performance by two rising stars of Scottish Opera, London-based Ukrainian Soprano Inna Husieva and northeast Baritone Ross Cumming, accompanied by Répétiteur Toby Hession.
The singers will perform extracts from The Barber of Seville, and Inna – who always includes a Ukrainian song in her recitals to support her country and her people – will give a special performance of Oy Ya Znayu, Shcho Hrikh Mayu, a Ukrainian folk song by Dezideriu Zador. Desserts and coffees will be served after the recital, with carriages at 10.00pm.
